Biography

Liverpool, Queens County has always been Susan’s home. She has had no desire to live anywhere else because she knows that living in a small town in rural Nova Scotia has its advantages. It’s Susan’s belief that it’s the people that matter and making sure that their needs are met.

Susan worked while attending school, married at a young age, continued to work in various jobs, while raising her daughter Tanya. Susan has never been selfish with her time as she spent many volunteer hours helping with community organizations and her church.

She first worked at the local Stedman Store, then accepted a job at the Bank of Montreal. Five years later, Susan became the first employee for a local cable television company and worked there from its start-up until it became part of Eastlink. For the 20 years working there, Susan learned a lot about business, and community affairs. She was involved and continue to be a member of organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, serving as President for 6 years. Knowing about business operations, Susan invested in a local Commercial Printing Firm and operated it for 16 years – Veinot’s Print Ltd is still operating under the ownership of her daughter.

Susan has served on various public committees of the municipality before she was elected as a Municipal Councillor for the Region of Queens Municipality in 2000 and served for 16 years in this capacity.

Susan is community-minded and always lends a helping hand whenever the need arises. She is active in Queens Care Society, Astor Theatre Society, Brooklyn Marina, Queens Community Dog Park Association, Liverpool Baptist Church. She also attends most of the community functions, events and happenings in Queens. You can ask a local person and they will tell you that they see Susan everywhere. She is very supportive of the communities in Queens County.
