Biography

Afam Elue is an investor and business consultant. He has been a resident of the Long Branch neighbourhood for over 12 years. His professional background is in corporate banking, wealth management and project management spanning three countries.

Afam earned his M.B.A. in 2006 from the University of Dallas in Texas, with a concentration in corporate finance. His achievements include playing a key role in creating over a half of a billion dollars in risk assets with the largest bank in Africa. He helped CitiFinancial save $11.5 million in delinquent loans, and pioneered a branch of Edward Jones Investments to serve over 160 households.

He is the founder and chairman of African Business Community, a digital not-for-profit platform for the creation and preservation of wealth, primarily for entrepreneurs of Afro-descent.

Afam is married to Elaine, who is originally from Singapore. He is passionate about leaving a sustainable planet for his children, Chino, Kanayo and Tobe, and values working towards a future with no poverty, social justice, green jobs, affordable housing, seniors’ care and free post-secondary tuition.
