Biography

Ian was born in Ontario to two immigrant parents. He has lived in several places in Ontario as well as the Netherlands for some time while growing up. Ian's family moved to Winnipeg’s north-end when he was a young teenager. Ian graduated from Tec Voc high school followed by the University of Winnipeg where he studied Education and Psychology. Ian's career led him into specializing in behaviour and addictions, which he remained passionate about as he was able to help many youth and adults. Ian also ran his own counseling agency for several years. Ian has worked and advocated for youth and marginalized citizens for most of his career. He has previous formal political experience as a candidate for the 2018 mayoral elections as well as the 2019 federal elections. Ian believes in true accountability from our elected officials and that we must lead Canada into a new and better era, where we deal with our past and present issues in a way that is honest, practical, financially feasible and benefits every Canadian. Ian's eyes are on improving the futures of our children and grandchildren.

Reasons to Run this Election

I chose to run after a career of over twenty six years in our system. Having worked in our care system including residential care for youth and adults in behaviour and addictions, education, social services, and counseling, I have had the opportunity to assist and advocate for people of all ages and backgrounds. One thing has persistently arisen clearly, which is that our system is broken; very broken. We have a government that jumps to assist other countries and people, while neglecting Canadians.
Our veterans are neglected, our indiginous are neglected, our unemployed are neglected, our infrastructure is neglected, our social services are horribly understaffed and continue to fail our children, our prisons are overfilled and outdated warehouses that benefit nobody, not to mention that homelessness and mental health treatment in this country is an embarrassment. These are less issues and more atrocities, as no party has dealt adequately with any of these issues. Despite the fact that we are one of the richest, and developed countries in the world, we have fallen behind in almost every way. I have banged my head on these walls for long enough.
I chose to run because I have seen enough, heard enough, said enough. I think back on all the people I have fought for over these years and I want a better future for them, all of us, my family and yours. I am tired of the lies, the inaction, the excuses, the passing the buck.
The buck stops here.

Messages to Constituent

Dear Constituents:

I truly believe that our elected officials are supposed to work for us and represent our best interests. The past two years has proven that the current government parties are acting well outside of our best interests. The Liberals and NDP have teamed up to wage a war against Canadians, our culture and our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Now it has been made clear that the only official opposition, the Conservative Party, is working alongside the others.

Our current government, remember, decided that CERB ($24.000/year) was good enough for citizens, while collecting their full pay of almost $183,000 - $270,000 per year, while doing nothing to help their local constituents. In addition, each rule they have set for us, has been broken by them.

Regardless of your opinion of Covid-19, vaccines, lock-downs, etc., what is at stake this election are our rights, freedoms and futures. The destruction of one group's rights, sets a precedent for the destruction for the other's rights and eventually the rights and freedoms of all Canadians.

I have supported each party in the past and can tell you that the more I have learned, the more I back the People's Party of Canada platform: https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/platform

This election there are two choices:
Freedom, by voting for the PPC; the ONLY party to continue fighting for your rights, or submission, complacency and control.

Please remember that our elected officials are supposed to work for us. Please vote wisely this year. All of our futures depend on it.

Thank you,
Ian.

Policy Priorities

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, our biggest issue this campaign is our rights and freedoms. Canadians are tired of unproven and ineffective mandates, force and coercion to be vaccinated and now special identification in the form of vaccine passports in order to interact in society. We also must look at dealing with a multitude of issues that our other parties have repeatedly failed to act upon, such as indigenous issues, healthcare, our economy, our treatment of our brave veterans, homelessness, firearms, and practical solutions for our environment.
We also must begin to demand real accountability from our leaders and elected officials, who must be held to account for their actions. Whether it is misspending, overspending, criminal activities, lies or otherwise. As I speak with constituents in our riding it is clear that we have all had enough and we are ready for real change.
This election will be pivotal in Canadian politics and history. We will vote for honesty, integrity, rights and freedoms, responsibility and accountability from the People's Party of Canada who stand with and beside Canadians, or for one of the same parties who has proven time and time again that they stand above and apart from our citizens in every way.
