Biography

Port Coquitlam has been my home for 23 years.

I moved here in 1997 for a job at a local robotics company after completing my degree in Engineering Science at SFU. I've enjoyed career success as an engineer, project manager, consultant and entrepreneur.

This city has been the perfect community to raise a family. I took every opportunity to volunteer. I've coached hockey and soccer, was a PoCo Soccer board member for 5 years where I built the referee mentoring program, and served as a scout leader. When my friend Jim got cancer, we formed a Ride to Conquer Cancer team, raising $50,000 over 7 years.

I also watched with increasing dismay as our political leaders have consistently ignored the increasing threat of climate change. I began working on local environmental campaigns and ultimately became active with the BC Greens in 2017. I was attracted by the highly principled approach to politics and am honoured to stand as the Green candidate for this election.

Listening to all sides is the only responsible way to things get done. We need leaders who can see a problem from all sides, imagine a solution, and then bring people together to build lasting solutions with integrity.

Partisan politics aren’t working. Now is the time for leadership, not empty promises.

To quote the inspiring Elizabeth May, "we do not have time for despair."

I wasn’t really expecting to be putting my name forward at this time. But if now is not the time to change how we do politics, when is?
