Biography

Born and raised in Whitney Pier, Michelle Wilson is passionate about her community, and doesn’t shy away from a challenge. She opened her own business in 2005, Timeless Moments Bridal Salon & Formal Wear, winning awards in areas such as marketing, retail, and woman in business, among others. She sold the business in January of 2014 and soon after was hired as Executive Director with Sydney Downtown Development Association after serving as an active volunteer and board president.

Michelle is the daughter of Regina Murphy and the late Ernie Moss, and stepdaughter to Kevin Murphy. She went to South Bar School before heading to Sydney to take French Immersion. From dancing at a young age to swimming and basketball, cheerleading and several school clubs, she has enjoyed being involved in sports and group activities her whole life. She followed her passion for sports by continuing with cheerleading through university and coached for six years until she had her first child in 2007. Michelle graduated from Riverview with her French immersion certificate, and then from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology.

She has been married to Angus for 15 years, is the proud mom of Angus Jr. and Ryan, stepsons Brandon and Nicholas, and her two cats.

Michelle cares deeply about people and her community and is excited to have the opportunity to share her passion with the riding of Cape Breton Centre – Whitney Pier and the rest of Nova Scotia.
